1) Preparation Before an Appointment

You can be confident in your preparation for your first tattoo by addressing these key things, having a nourished, rested and well washed body.

Nourishing your body can mean properly hydrating yourself with at least half a gallon of water within 24 hours of your appointment. This can help lower the pain levels from a tattoo gun, and make it so your skin is more tolerant of ink and improves the healing process.

On top of having good hydration levels, you should also make it a point to choose certain healthy foods to consume before your tattoo. A lot of tattoo artists and nutritionists recommend incorporating protein rich foods like eggs, fish and red meat. Having a good meal the days before and during an appointment, can help you avoid unnecessary breaks between sessions from hunger, and can also improve recovery times, and make your skin easier to work with.

Lastly, make sure to get a goodnight’s sleep roughly 7-8 hours, before attending your appointment so that your body is fully rested, allowing for optimal bodily function and pain tolerance.

2) What to Do During a Tattoo

When arriving at your first appointment, it is essential to be a good client that is to work with for your artist. Be sure to bring your own items to distract yourself such as books and mobile devices as it can help you kill time, and focus less on the pain of your tattoo.

You should also practice deep breathing, and stay still to the best of your abilities to make it a better time for you and your tattoo artist. Make sure to take breaks, and have a couple snacks on hand in case you get hungry during a session. Be communicative and trusting towards your artist, so you can make sure you get the tattoo you want, and that you can establish a good break time.

3) Find the Best Tattoo Shops in Hawaii

In the region of Hawaii, ensure that you get your best possible tattoo by finding the right shop and artist for you. Good shops often have websites dedicated to their works, which can show off their artist skills and styles, as well as pricing. Try finding a shop with a matching style to your piece, and do your research on the specific artist you would like to consult. You should also be sure to compare prices and portfolios from shop to shop near you before making your choice.

In Conclusion

The process of getting your first tattoo can be a tiring but rewarding process. You can alleviate this stress by researching to find the best artist for you in the tattoo shops in Hawai. On top of this, if you well prepare your mind and body you will certainly come out with an amazing piece to show your friends and family.
