5 Tips for Choosing the Perfect Shoes for Your Feet

A comfortable and well-fitting pair of shoes is a necessity. It does not only provide support to our feet but also helps to reduce shock. This prevents blisters, calluses, and other foot problems.

But how do you find that perfect pair of shoes for your feet? From foot slides to sneakers, there are several different types available in the market. Won’t it take a lot of time and money to choose the right shoes? Well, worry not because we know 5 amazing tips that will help you find the perfect shoes easily and quickly. These include:

  • Test Comfortability
  • Avoid Heels That Are Too High
  • Buy Shoes at the End of the Day

Consider Your Foot Shape

Wide, narrow, square-shaped – different people have different foot shapes, and shoes are designed to fit all these shapes. That is why you can find the front of the shoes in pointed, box, round, almond, and many other styles. So, before shopping, determine the shoe style that should fit your particular foot shape and buy accordingly.

Focus on the Fit, Not Size

Size is typically the first thing we consider when shoe shopping. However, no matter what size you wear, different brands produce shoes with different measurements. They don’t produce the standard size everywhere.

So, rather than insisting on a specific size, be flexible and look for shoes that fit you better. They should be comfortable. Your foot should not feel tight or painful in the shoe. A great way to ensure you have found the right fit is to leave some space at the front of the shoe.

Test Comfortability

Most people can judge the comfortability of the shoes after wearing them once. But if you are still in doubt, you can test it further by:

  • Trying out the shoes with the socks that you usually wear.
  • Walking around the store for at least 5 minutes.

This will help you identify any potential problems with the fit and shape. You can also evaluate how the shoes look after you wear them.

Avoid Heels That Are Too High

High heels make women appear tall, but they also “lift” their bodies. They look more confident and attractive. This effect increases with the height of the heels. But, although a 7-inch heel may sound tempting, don’t purchase these shoes. Too high heels don’t support your knees, lower back, or ankles properly. Wearing them for long periods can lead to health issues like Achilles tendinopathies and chronic back pain. If you really want to wear heels, go for 3-inch or below. This will meet your need for hills without compromising your health.

Buy Shoes at the End of the Day

Believe it or not – our feet swell at the end of the day. This swelling might be unnoticeable or unbearable, but it will be present. And what does swelling do to your feet? It changes the size and shape. So, the best time to buy shoes is at the end of the day. This will ensure that your shoes don’t feel too tight and uncomfortable when you are done with your workday.
