Kai Myoui is famous for being the older brother of Japanese singer Mina. Mina is a singer, dancer, and member of the Twice South Korean girl group. The group was formed in 2015 by JYP Entertainment. Mina trained and practiced ballet for eleven years before being scouted by a recruiter from JYP Entertainment when she was shopping with her mother. She participated in the South Korean reality TV show Sixteen and was one of nine successful participants; hence joined Twice.

Kai’s parents are Sachiko and Akira Myoui. His father is a top surgeon at Osaka University Hospital. He graduated in 1986 from Osaka University Medical School and earned a Ph.D. in 1993. He worked in the Medical Center for Translation Research (MTR).In 2017, he became the director of MTR. He’s also the managing editor for the Journal of Artificial Organs.

Kai Myoui’s Sister: Mina
Born Mina Sharon Myoui in San Antonio, Texas, on 24 March 1997, she’s mononymously known as Mina. She moved to Japan as a toddler. Mina grew up in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and attended Obayashi Sacred Heart School, an all-girls institution. She held dual citizenship (Japanese and American) until 2019, when she no longer has U.S. citizenship.
Mina practiced ballet until she was approached and offered an audition by JYP Entertainment. In 2014, Mina moved to South Korea to train for JYP and participated in the reality television show Sixteen. She was among the top participants and joined Twice’s newly formed girl group. The group released its first extended play, The Story Begins, in 2015, with its single Like Ooh-Aah being the first debut K-pop song to reach 100 million Youtube views. The group’s other songs include Cheer Up, Likey, Feel Special, More & More, Eyes Wide Open, and The Feels.
Mina was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder that made her sit out the remainder of her group’s Twicelights World Tour. In 2020, it was reported her extreme anxiety and stage performance insecurity had improved, and she would resume live performances with Twice.
Mina is famous as one of Twice’s best dancers in South Korea and beyond. She was the 20th most popular idol in South Korea in the 2019 Gallup Korea’s music poll. In 2022, Mina became the new muse of Metrocity, a popular South Korean luxury fashion brand. In March of the same year, Mina became the global ambassador of the Japanese cosmetic brand SK-II.
