Will Muschamp was born in Rome, Georgia on August 3, 1971, but was raised in Gainesville, Florida and played college football at the University of Georgia. He was a defensive back for the Bulldogs from 1991-1994. The 51-year-old started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater in 1995. Muschamp was a highly touted assistant coach before he got his first head coaching job at Florida. He was the defensive coordinator at Auburn in 2006 and at Texas in 2008.
He was also the head coach-in-waiting at Texas before he took the Florida job. Muschamp is a defensive-minded coach, and that was evident in his time at Florida. The Gators have been one of the top defenses in the country during his tenure. They finished in the top 10 in total defense in each of his first three seasons. Muschamp is married to his college sweetheart Carol Muschamp formerly Davis.
Love Life and Family of Carol Davis
Carol first met the love of her life when her brother, John Davis was roommates with Muschamp in the University of Georgia. It was love at first sight, but her brother was strictly against her dating his friend. So, they waited and after finishing college Will got in touch with her. He is best friends with Carol’s cousin, Wit Marshall and got her number from her aunt, Marshall’s mother. The rest is history. They got engaged in 1998 and a year later in 1999 they married when will was working in Eastern Kentucky. After her marriage to the football coach, Carol says that the best piece of advice she got from her dad was “You better put your furniture on Wheels because you are going to be moving a lot.” this advice from her dad her Carol a lot because a year after her marriage she had to move from Kentucky to Georgia in 2000, then to Louisiana in 2001, to Miami in 2005, to Alabama in 2006, then Texas in 2008, Florida in 2010, back to Auburn, Alabama in 2014, next was South Carolina in 2015. From 2021 she is now in Georgia.
