Marnie Fausch was born on 22 July 1947 in Pennsylvania, USA. Her mother was Marjorie Carr Fausch, and her grandfather Charles C. Carr was a former part-owner of the St. Petersburg Times. Her siblings include James C. Fausch and Joan Schachtner. She lived under the radar until she met Banks and wed in 1968.
Marnie and Banks had a daughter named Joanna Rae Banks Morgan. They divorced in 1970, two years into their marriage. The couple didn’t disclose the reasons for their separation, and many of Banks’ fans lost faith in him. Marnie went on to live a life away from the spotlight after her relationship with Banks ended.

Marnie moved to St. Petersburgh in 1972 and worked as a graphic artist and library clerk. She founded the Boca Beacon, a monthly newspaper in Boca Grande, in 1980, and it grew steadily by 1985. In 1988, Marnie sold the newspaper firm and became the president of Bayou Bonita Communications Corp.
Marnie died in 1991 of a car crash.
