Making The Syrup

Mix sugar, lemon juice, water, and the edible purple flowers in your saucepan to make peach and purple flower compote syrup. Boil until the liquid thickens, then soak the blossoms in the syrup for about five minutes. Let the mixture cool to room temperature before straining. Be sure to use only the petals of delicate and delicious flowers like lavender, lilac, and violets.
