Todd Milsap was a production manager working behind the scenes in the music industry. He was the son of Ronnie Milsap, a legendary country music singer. He was found dead by his son, who had not heard from him in two days, on his houseboat at Four Corners Marina in Nashville. His cause of death was decided to be medically related.

Ronnie Milsap was an American recording artist and pianist who sang country music and was among the biggest country and crossover hitmakers in the 8os and 70s. Although he was blind from birth, he became a successful singer incorporating pop, R&B, and rock-roll elements. Ronnie is credited with six Grammy Awards and 35 number-one country hits.
He started practicing piano at Governor Morehead School at the age of 7 and unfortunately lost his left eye at the age of 14. He was a piano player representing the Modern Era Artist before he was advised to move to Nashville. He signed with RCA Records in 1973 and produced hit songs like Pure Love, Stranger in My House, I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for The World, and What a Difference You’ve Made in My Life. His biography was featured in A&E Network’s Biography television series in 2000. He was on an episode of Crossroads in 2005 with Tex-Mex rock group Los Lonely Boys in 2005 and CMT’s shows including 40 Greatest Men of Country Music.
His first non-country album was released in 2004 and produced by Jerry F Sharell. The album was a collection of jazz music and American standards and this won him a Grammy Award nomination. He then released the album My Life after signing with RCA again and came back to mainstream and contemporary country music style. He released his Summer 17 album in 2014 with recordings of classic pop and R&B songs from the 1950s and 60’s. He was selected to perform on Forever Country a mash-up track of Take Me Home, On the Road Again, and Country Roads, in 2015 celebrating 50 years of CMA Awards.
Ronnie was named CMA Male Vocalist of the Year three times, won Entertainer of the Year in 1977, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014 along with Mac Wiseman and Hank Cochran. His latest release is a duet with Deborah Silver Jambalaya. He performed his final show in music at the Bridgestone Arena accompanied by his friends and family on October 2023 and continues to record and host his podcast Music and Milsap.
