Why More Families are Considering Cremation Ceremonies

Why More Families are Considering Cremation Ceremonies

In Australia, many families choose a cremation service when their loved ones leave them.

For some cultures and religions, it has been the preferred ceremony for a number of reasons. The body is burned and the ashes returned to the land. For thousands of years, civilisations have chosen to cremate their relatives as a ceremonial tradition. In some cultures, sky burials are commonplace. The deceased are left to be consumed by vultures and other birds of prey.

The tradition of a church burial is very much a Western concept that has been overtaken by the more practical and affordable alternative of a cremation service that has traditionally been the preferred ceremony of Eastern religions.

Cremations are becoming more popular.

Why is this?

Cremation is a cost-effective and practical alternative to burial services.

It is cheaper. Cost is a factor. But it is not only the cost. Open-casket viewings of the body before burial have a somewhat morbid flavour. Cremation seems more humane. There is a certain comfort in knowing that the remains of your loved one are not left, underground, in a box.

Unlike burials, cremation Dallas provides the opportunity to scatter the remains of your loved one at sea, in their favourite park, or in an area of natural beauty. The ashes help to nourish the land that they’re scattered in. A tree planted as a memorial will be fed from the ashes of the remains. Some families even elect to shoot the ashes from fireworks, celebrate the explosion of their existence, and have the remains scattered the land beneath. Cremation jewellery and tattoos are also gaining popularity as a way to permanently memorialize a loved one. There are many ways to remember our loved ones and to cherish their memory in more tangible and experiential methods than a simple burial.

People are moving away from traditional burials and opting for cremation services in Australia. A cremation in Strathfield is a fraction of the cost of a burial service and the service is equally as memorable for the friends and family in attendance. The cost of a burial service including the price of a coffin, the plot of land, and all added expenses far outweigh the cost of a cremation service.

While most of us are navigating the decision of a funeral service we are subject to feelings of grief and sadness that are naturally part of the process of dealing with the loss of a loved one. The decision to bury or cremate our loved one is perhaps something that should be discussed with our family in our autumn years. We wouldn’t want to burden our families with unnecessary expenses, so the suggestion of a cremation service might be a sensible way to lessen the grief and stress that our passing will naturally occur to the family and friends around us.

The high cost of a traditional burial might not bring any measure of comfort to you or your family and in these difficult times, the kindness and genuine concern that your deceased loved one would have for you will perhaps be better celebrated with a cremation service.
