Stanley Williams iv is the son of the American criminal gang leader, Stanley Tookie Williams iii. His mother is Bonnie Williams-Taylor, and he has two siblings; Julian Alphonse Williams and Travon Williams.
Given that Stanley Williams iv was born into a family that was into gangs and illegal activities, he also got into those gangs. His mother was the first female to get into one of his father’s Crips, so once he was of age, he was integrated into thug life. Even his older brother, Travon Williams, was a gang member.
Stanley Williams iv was convicted of killing a 20-year-old lady in an alley in Hollywood.
Stanley Williams iv’s brother Travon Williams
Travon Williams was also into street gangs, but he reformed and tried to build on his father’s legacy, who was trying to advocate against violence caused by street gangs. He had devoted his life to Christ and intended to bring young people to the church. Stanley Williams iv’s brother said that his father just had a misguided childhood, and he had reformed.
Travon Williams’ main target is to extend his father’s legacy by promoting the Tookie Williams Protocol for Peace which his father started.
His Father
Stanley Williams III and Raymond Washington founded and led gangs in Los Angeles in the early 1970s. Stanley Williams iv’s father was the crime boss and the prominent leader of crips in south Los Angeles.
In his early life, Stanley Williams iii was born in Louisiana. A year later, his father abandoned them, and they moved to Los Angeles as his mother worked several available jobs to support her family.
While he was young, Stanley Williams iv’s father used to hang out in abandoned houses in his neighborhood, where he watched people gamble, drink, and abuse drugs. Adults often forced children in his area to engage in street fights; he was caught in the middle and had to participate.
Stanley Williams III won most of his street fights, and adults would bet on him when he engaged in street fights, and they would share the winnings with him once he won a fight. The streets were not suitable for Stanley Williams iv’s father, who had to carry a switchblade to protect himself from older bullies who often targeted him.
Due to fighting, he was expelled from George Washington Preparatory High School, and several other schools could not admit him due to his fights, so he got into criminal activities.
After founding Crips in South Los Angeles, they grew to the point he could not control them anymore, and in 1979 he was arrested for four counts of murder and robbery. He was tried and found guilty and was sentenced to death row.
Stanley Williams iv’s father’s Execution
Stanley Williams iii appealed for his conviction, but the then Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, denied him clemency. Tookie Williams had already reformed since he tried to make up for his mistakes by advocating against violence. Still, he was executed on December 13, 2005, by lethal injection at the San Quentin State Prison, California.
