The self-proclaimed “first supermodel” Janice Dickinson recently made a statement regarding her dissatisfaction with cosmetic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow, stating that he had “botched” her breast surgery.
This comes after Dr. Dubrow referred to her as the “most difficult” patient he has ever encountered, especially while filming the TV show Botched. Dickinson sought treatment from Dr. Dubrow in 2014 to correct a previous surgery.
Dickinson’s Botched Breast Augmentation from Dr. Dubrow
During an interview with David Yontef on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, Dickinson expressed her frustration with Dr. Dubrow, stating that she had no qualms in informing him of his mistake. Dickinson reported having to undergo multiple revisions to her breasts after seeing Dr. Dubrow.
She also mentioned that she had requested dilaudid for the pain she was experiencing, but was denied it. Despite her dissatisfaction, she acknowledged that her breasts were not as botched as when Dr. Dubrow initially operated on them.
Dr. Dubrow, a renowned celebrity plastic surgeon, has treated a variety of patients from the streets of Los Angeles to those who have suffered from botched surgeries. However, according to the surgeon, none were more challenging than his experience treating Janice Dickinson.
During the promotion of the new season of his E! show, he recounted the difficulties he faced while treating the 59-year-old model who had previously undergone a breast enlargement surgery 30 years ago.
When Janice Dickinson sought out Dr. Terry Dubrow’s services to modify her breasts, she hoped for a successful procedure. However, only three days after the operation, a disheveled Janice returned to Dr. Dubrow’s office and removed the fluid drain tubes from her breasts. Janice then requested prescription drugs from Dr. Dubrow to alleviate the pain.
During a confessional of the episode, the board-certified plastic surgeon based in Newport Beach stated that Janice was his most challenging patient in his 25-year career, and that she was her own breasts’ worst enemy.
Dickinson’s Recovery from 2014/15 Breast Augmentation
While her revisionary surgery was relatively straightforward, the same could not be said for Janice. Dr. Dubrow has since spoken about the difficulties he faced in treating her, noting that she was a challenging patient who had a history of drug abuse.
During the show, Janice was seen behaving erratically and demanding drugs, but according to Dr. Dubrow, this was nothing compared to her usual behavior. Dr. Dubrow stated that her personality and past struggles with drug addiction made her an enormously challenging patient.
He stated that she was lucky that the editors and producers were kind to her, as the reality of her behaviour was much worse. Dr. Dubrow commented that the editors and producers were “kind” to Dickinson in their portrayal of her behavior on the show, as they could have been much more brutal.
On the other hand, the former supermodel and reality TV star has been praised for her bravery in sharing her battle with addiction and life of sobriety from alcohol and prescription drugs. Despite concerns that she may relapse after the surgery, Dr Dubrow reported that she was recovering well.
Dickinson criticized the lack of attention given to her after her surgery, claiming that the doctors did not keep a close enough eye on her, resulting in her pulling the tubes out of her body. Furthermore, she defended her request for Dilaudid on the show, citing the agony she experienced post-operation. She also admitted to smoking a cigarette during her recovery period.
Janice Dickinson’s History of Plastic Surgery
Janice has undergone numerous cosmetic procedures over the years, including facelifts, breast implants, tummy tucks and liposuction, and has spent a significant amount of money on these treatments. Despite her successful modelling career in the 70s and 80s, Janice’s appearance has changed significantly due to her addiction to cosmetic surgery.
Breast augmentation
Dickinson underwent a breast augmentation 30 years ago, but later sought revision surgery on the show Botched in 2014. At the time, Dickinson expressed frustration with the “ripples” and “valleys” of skin between her decades-old breast implants. Dr. Dubrow was astounded to find that she still had the original implants.
Facelift
Before undergoing a facelift in 2004, Janice discussed the importance of plastic surgery with Entertainment Tonight, stating, “I consider plastic surgery important because I’m in front of the camera, I still model, and, quite frankly, I was noticing my skin looking like a turkey wobbler. I’m just trying to hang on to what I got.”
Other Cosmetic Surgeries
She has previously undergone a tummy tuck and mini neck lift in Beverly Hills in 2007. A source reports that despite her public image, Janice had been concerned about extra skin on her lower abdomen and desired tighter abs. The source also claims that Janice opted for a mini neck lift at the last minute while undergoing the tummy tuck.
Janice has also had Botox injections and veneers, which she attributes to her bankruptcy in 2013. She claims that she was offered these procedures for free but was later charged for them. Janice’s lips also appear fuller in recent years, although she denies any use of lip fillers, insisting that her lips are natural.
Conclusion
Janice Dickinson has been open about her experiences with plastic surgery and has undergone numerous procedures to maintain her physical appearance throughout her cadreer. Notably, Janice has been forthcoming about the plastic surgeries that have gone wrong.
Despite her affinity for plastic surgery, Janice has stated that there are certain procedures she would never consider. For instance, she claims that she would never opt for butt implants or have anything inserted into her cheeks, as she believes that she has “perfect bone structure.” She also stated that she currently receives Botox and Restylne injections.
