Most humans are anxious every day of the week and we very seldom stop to think that our pets are feeling the same. We as humans don’t have dibs on feeling anxious because animals also suffer from the very same thing as well. Many dogs throughout Australia got a difficult start in life and if you adopted your favourite pet from an animal sanctuary for example or the local dog pound then it’s likely that they were abandoned by the people that owned them before and so they lack confidence in their everyday lives.
If your pooch is starting to chew on your favourite pair of running shoes or your furniture then they have anxiety issues that can be resolved by giving them calming dog treats. These particular treats come in many different shapes, sizes and flavours and so they can help to take away the anxiety and stress that your dog is feeling so that they behave themselves. The following are just some other tips if you find that your dog is a little nervous all the time.
- Give them a hug – Much like humans, dogs love to be held and to be hugged. It only takes a light stroke from their owner to calm them down almost immediately and if your dog is small enough, maybe pick it up and hold of close to you.
- Take them for a walk – It is fair to say that dogs love going for a walk and if your pet is feeling particularly nervous then a good walk in the sunshine and the fresh air can do your pet the power of good.
- Play their favourite music – Believe it or not but dogs are exactly like humans when it comes to music. Music has the power to create essential white noise when a lot is going on outside around certain times of the year like fireworks going off which many dogs are terrified of.
- Try some massage – Massage comes us down at the best of times and so you can imagine what some massage could do for your dog. Dogs love getting their neck massaged and then you need to just work your way down onto the back area.
If you follow these four pieces of advice and give them their calming dog treat, then you should be able to calm your dog down fairly quickly and easily.
